Received "Drum Major for Justice" award

Aimee Maxwell of the Georgia Innocence Project received the Law and Justice Award for her work in securing the freedom of several wrongly convicted men through the help of DNA. This award is part of the Drum Major for Justice program of the SCLC / Women’s Organizational Movement for Empowerment Now, Inc.

Mrs. Evelyn G. Lowery created the dinner event in 1980 and is held annually near the April 4th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the founding president of S.C.L.C., who wanted to be remembered as "a Drum Major For Justice." The D.M.F.J. awardees are recognized by their contributions to the cause of freedom, equality, and achievement in their professional fields.

College of Law 3L Student Cliff Williams was also honored with the same award for his work with the Georgia Innocence Project.
